Peter Brook

After a brief spell in primary school, I have been playing cello continuously since I was 15 and bassoon since I was 17, being taught on cello by Karen Faulkner-Davies, Christine Moore, Liz Anderson, Calum Cook, Catherine Black and Penny Driver, and on bassoon by Jean Crook, Alison Woodward, Martin Gatt and currently by Steve Marsden. I did grades 3, 5, 7 and 8 on cello in consecutive years, followed by my ACTL diploma during my gap year. I did my undergraduate degree at the University of Chichester where I was principal cellist of the symphony orchestra, sinfonia and string orchestra, and principal bassoon of the pops orchestra, sinfonietta, wind band and chamber orchestra. I have also been principal cellist of the Trowbridge Symphony Orchestra and co-principal of the Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Orchestra. From 2017 to 2019 I read postgraduate study on bassoon at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama under Steve Marsden and Martin Bowen, where I co-founded the National Video Game Orchestra of Wales.
