At the age of 5 I've loved music and have been influenced to participate in and listen to. My first instrument was the guitar, which I picked it up when I was 8 and the saxophone a year later and then the double bass which I stumbled upon by chance. At the age of 9 I came across a sound I had never heard before in the double bass that I thought was unequalled. After that day I started the double bass as well as my other two instruments which I had gotten to grade 6-7 by then but I was at a point where I had to make a choose between one of them because of money issues and time consumption. I then continued with the double bass after already having two years with a jazz bass player. I then moved onto classical because my parents thought it would help me with me severe dyslexia which was having a big impact on my life at this time. Age 10 after having 2 years with a cello teacher as a bass teacher I joined the junior Birmingham Conservatoire for 2 years under the watchful eye of the head of strings Timothy English how in my mind as well as my cello teacher has been two most inspirational people in my life at that point. after 2 years at the junior Birmingham Conservatoire learning with a post grad double bass student part of the Birmingham Conservatoire and having two years of piano lesson getting me to grade 5 in piano and grade 7 standard in bass, I then moved on to Wells Cathedral School for 5 years after turning down chetems two times because they didn't provide support for people with dyslexia. I left Wells Cathedral School after 5 years learning the double bass under the world renowned David Hayes how improved my playing and understand of the instrument by leaps and bounds. I now attend the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where my learning continues under the teachings of David Stark how is principle of the BBC NOW orchestra. Institute, places performed Started the double bass at the Birmingham conservatoire. Been since then, i have been on several music causes e.g. musical, EYSM, young sinfonia at the sage which with them I got serial schools scholarship to play with them, and we performed all over Northumberland and did a tour in Singapore. I then went on to festivals all over England. First one was in Birmingham performing in the opening of the new town hall called the 'midnight hoper', as well as that I did lots of work shops with the cbso and with the nso. I've played several times in the Wanbeck festival and played in concerts around Europe with wells cathedral school SCO tours around Germany, France and Switzerland. I played with the NEW sinfonia playing in two concerts in Wrexham and Asaph where we were asked to premier a piece in north Wales. I attended wells cathedral school with a scholarship for music and then Welsh with another. • Music teachers David Hayes for 5 years, Second Chris Westcott Third David Stark. And i have had lessons with Tom Martin and Rodney Stewart.
