Customer questions
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
Let me know as far in advance as you can, especially if I'm travelling outside of London! I am flexible with my timing so this shouldn't be an issue, especially with London events (where I am based)
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Unfortunately I have never DJ'd so you'd be taking a risk but I would be happy to refer you to a friend who is well versed in DJ-ing!
How much time do you need to set up?
As I am a pianist I have zero equipment I need to set up! Although just to ensure I play my best, it would be great if I could get a feel of the piano before I perform (eg. play a couple of chords just to gauge the weight of the keys/and the sensitivity of the pedal)
If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?
As a pianist, of course! So long as the piano has been tuned and is in full working order
Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?
Of course you can! I am happy to bring along a set list for you prior to the event and if there's a specific order you'd like them played in or you want to approach me during the performance with a request as to what to play next then that's all good with me
Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?
Generally not, but there are options! I only own an upright piano and an electric piano (which is essentially your standard 88-key upright, with 3 pedals). If I were to bring my electric I would need to charge the cost of a van to bring it with me as it is VERY heavy!
Can you learn song requests before the event?
Absolutely :) please let me know in advance if you have any special request prior to the event! There will be an extra fee depending on the time it'll take me to learn the piece (e.g. if the piece is sight-readable then a fee of £10, if it's a more substantial piece that will require more of my time to learn then a £25 fee will be added!)
What do your clients love most about your performances?
I am a passionate player and can adjust my performance style depending on the event. For example
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
The Barbican!
I have performed at many wedding venues (both churches and receptions) across London, as well as private and non-private parties in homes across SE London.
Whilst studying at the Royal Welsh Conservatoire I performed many times in multiple of their recital halls.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
Classical composers: Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, Scarlatti, Mozart, Berlioz, Tchaikovsky
Contemporary music:
Lana Del Ray
Ludovica Einaudi
Nick Cave
Elton John
Mitski
Film composers:
John Williams
Ennio Morricone
Angelo Badalamenti
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
I performed as part of an orchestra at the Barbican when I was 10 years old! An experience I will never forget
