About Paul

Singer-songwriter Paul Thompson and his Guinness World Record Breaking Milk Float Stage 'Bluebell' will deliver a unique musical experience!
Singer (Baritone)

Public liability insurance of £1 million

Paul Thompson is a singer-songwriter originating from Norfolk, currently living in Somerset. Described by Acoustic Magazine as ‘Blissed out Donovan meets John Martyn,’ Paul writes uplifting and thoughtful acoustic based songs, using a loop box in live performances to layer guitar, vocal and rhythm parts. Having toured in the UK, Europe, the US and Canada, Paul’s latest project has seen him performing with a specially converted milk float ‘Bluebell’, that Paul uses as an outdoor stage. With funding from Arts Council England, Paul first toured with Bluebell from Norfolk to the Edinburgh Fringe in summer 2015, performing as far north as the Outer Hebrides, and gaining a Guinness World Record for ‘the longest journey by electric milk float’, clocking up over 1,000 miles at an average speed of 10mph! Summer 2017 saw Paul undertaking another epic tour with Bluebell, this time from Norfolk to Land’s End raising money for Cancer Research. After completing the tour Paul relocated to Somerset, where he is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Songwriting. He is working on his fourth album, and has also written a book about his ‘Floating to the Fringe Tour’, which he is planning to turn into a film featuring his music. Paul can tailor his set with a mixture of original songs and tasteful covers, played in his own 'loopy' style. The Milk Float stage is available for outdoor bookings - fully solar-powered for 'set-up and play' just about anywhere - as long as the hill to the venue isn't too steep!
