Hi there! My name is Paul, I'm a singer/songwriter and musician based in London. I’ve loved music all my life and playing live is my favourite way of connecting to the world. Apart from singing, I’ve learned to play several instruments (piano, keyboard, guitar, bass and percussion), which has made me a versatile performer and given me some great times! I work in various guises as a performing and recording artist. This includes the following: Paul Shine - Originals & covers, solo vocals & piano/guitar across different genres. WeirdMoon - Covers band, rock / pop from all eras. Includes acoustic duo (guitar & percussion) and jazzy covers of popular songs. Dead Writers - Originals band, alternative/art rock. My repertoire covers 100s of songs from all decades, and I can adjust to just about any kind of style. My favourite genres are rock, pop, folk, soul, blues, classical and jazz. I’m a passionate and engaging performer with an emotional delivery who loves to play for the crowd. I have a professional and friendly attitude and always looks the part - I love a good show! I can also deliver laid-back sets with background music if the occasion requires it. In my career as a professional musician, I’ve played internationally in all kinds of settings, including music festivals and venues, theatres, private parties, weddings, hotels, restaurants, art galleries and charity events. Some of these include The Barbican Centre, HMS Belfast Cruise, Churchill War Rooms Museum in London, La Fab Gallery in Paris, and countries like Spain and Mexico. My work has been featured on several major publications (voted #1 Track Of The Week on Classic Rock Magazine), British Airways’ in-flight playlist, international radio, film (the multi-awarded ‘Zanka Contact’) and advertisement campaigns. Recently, it has garnered professional engagements with United Talent Agency and Glastonbury Festival, and received attention by music producer Tony Visconti and public praise by singer-songwriter Nick Cave. I also worked as the Musical Director for the London cabaret show 'The Cult Of…’ (2023-2024). I started to train as a classical musician at the age of 7 at my hometown's conservatoire, where I studied Piano, Flute, Music Theory and Choir for 10 years. At the age of 15, I taught myself to play guitar and began to write songs and play live - the journey has gone on from there! I also offer services as a music teacher, and I’ve worked for 7 years as a private tutor and in primary/secondary schools around London. I teach Piano, Singing, Guitar and Music Theory to people of all ages. My approach to private lessons is to deliver professional, friendly and dynamic lessons that inspire the learner to develop a meaningful relationship with their instrument and giving them a sense of purpose and fun.
