About Paul

Singer
London
Intuitive and versatile musician with more than 20 years of training and experience. Available as a singer/pianist/songwriter and more!

Hi! I am an enthusiastic and experienced musician, singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist based in London, available as a cover and original performing artist, as well as offering private music lessons and songwriting services. I have been in direct contact with music all throughout my life and have always considered it the most defining part of myself. Classically trained since the age of 7, I received Piano, Flute, Music Theory and Vocal Training lessons for 10 years at my hometown music conservatoire. For 5 years, I was also the soloist boy soprano in the same town’s cathedral choir. At the age of 15, I taught myself to play acoustic guitar, a skill I have since developed to accompany myself or other artists. Determined on pursuing a musical career, I moved to London in 2010 after having been involved in several bands as a singer/pianist/songwriter during my university years. I started my professional career collaborating with several local emerging artists of the local music scene, and have shared stage with artists like Tara Minton, Luke Bowman or Dana Immanuel. In May 2014, I started working as a singer/pianist with AP Productions, an events company for which I have since been performing regularly. I have also written, arranged and recorded music for short films, adverts and other projects, and have performed at multiple kinds of live events (small to medium-sized venues, festivals, restaurants, hotels, private parties, etc) both as a cover artist or playing original music with my band Dead Writers. Among my most developed qualities as a musician, I would highlight high-standard improvisation skills, a sharp ear and an engaging, expressive performing style. I am also quick to learn any piece of music, play by ear and take requests. My current repertoire includes a wide variety of all-time pop, rock, folk and blues classics but I am also familiar with other genres like classical, latin, Spanish or jazz-influenced music. My teaching experience spans 6 years of working in primary and secondary schools around London as a Music Teaching Assistant and Intervention Leader. As a private tutor, I teach Piano, Guitar and Music Theory to both adults and children. My approach to private lessons is to deliver professional, friendly and dynamic lessons that make the learner develop a passion for the subject whilst giving a sense of purpose. I take pleasure in seeing my students progress and carefully tailor a personal plan to suit everyone's level and taste. As a resourceful and creative tutor, I always use a wide range of resources to fulfil their expectations and help them succeed.

What an amazing music teacher. We have a four year old so it's pretty tricky finding a teacher that can engage at that age - After a couple of false starts we found Paul a friendly and brilliant teacher who enables our son to make the choices about what he wants to do, has an infectious enthusiasm and a hugely professional manner. Paul seems to be able to play and teach just about any instrument. If you're looking for a teacher for your kids stop here. Paul teaches at a school as well as tutoring and so is highly qualified and experienced.

Great teacher well practiced in introducing beginners to the piano and tailors lessons well for what I want to get out of them.
