Some musicians learn their craft in conservatoires, poring over sheet music in soundproofed practice rooms. I learned mine on stage — in function rooms, marquees, and festival fields, in front of real crowds who either danced or didn't. There's no faking that kind of feedback, and it's shaped everything about how I perform today. I'm entirely self-taught. Every riff, every transition, every trick I use to read a room came from years of doing the job — not studying it. That path taught me something a classroom never could: how to actually move a crowd. Music theory can tell you what's correct; it can't tell you when a room is about to erupt, or when to hold back and let the tension build. That instinct only comes from time on the floor, and I've spent a lot of it. I perform because there's no feeling quite like watching a room come alive. The moment a live sax line locks in with a house beat and a dancefloor lifts as one — that's it. That's the whole job, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not chasing perfection for its own sake; I'm chasing that shared moment with a crowd, night after night, venue after venue. It's why I built my act around a fusion of live saxophone and Ibiza-style house music: it's a sound that's built for connection, made to be felt rather than just heard. Experience isn't just a number on a page — though in my case, it's a pretty big one. I've performed at over 2,500 weddings, parties and corporate events, and that number is the reason I can walk into any room, on any night, in front of any crowd, and know exactly what to do. Each event type has a different rhythm, a different set of nerves and expectations, and each one demands something slightly different from a performer. After 2,500+ nights of doing this professionally, I've learned how to read all of them. I know how to warm up a stiff corporate crowd, how to time a big moment for a wedding first dance, and how to keep a party's energy climbing set after set. That volume of experience also means reliability. Anyone can sound good in rehearsal. What actually matters on the night is showing up prepared, professional, and able to deliver — whatever the room throws at you. That's the standard I hold myself to on every single booking, and it's a standard 2,500 gigs has stress-tested more times than I can count.
