About Patinada Greek Wedding Band

The heartbeat of Greece at your wedding
Balkan band
Colchester
Public liability insurance of £10 million

In Greece, the word “patinada” comes from an old Greek wedding custom, where musicians walk together through the streets, filling the air with songs and dancing rhythms to celebrate a wedding. The bride is walking gracefully behind them, followed by family and guests in a joyful procession. It’s a tradition of bringing music to the people — a living expression of joy, togetherness and love shared with the whole community. This same spirit inspires Patinada – Greek Wedding Band. We are a group of accomplished musicians dedicated to bringing the heart and soul of Greece to your celebration. With us, your wedding becomes not just an event, but a true glenti — an authentic Greek feast of music, dance, and unforgettable memories. What we offer: A professional band of four highly experienced Greek musicians, with the option to expand up to eight players, depending on your event. A repertoire spanning the many voices of Greece: uplifting island songs, soulful Epirus melodies, fiery dances from Macedonia and Thrace, Asia Minor traditions, beloved rebetiko classics, and the heartfelt pulse of laïkó. The authentic atmosphere of a traditional Greek wedding celebration — vibrant, joyful, and irresistible, inviting everyone to join the dance. The option of a patinada (musical wedding procession) for a truly unforgettable bridal entrance or a unique highlight during your special day. With Patinada, we don’t just play the music — we bring the living heartbeat of Greece to your wedding.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients love the authentic Greek sound our performances have, which is the closest possible to the actual (they are the actual) performances in Greece, as all of us are seasoned musicians who have performed in various different settings, from Rebetiko in Taverns to authentic Greek Paniyiri throughout Greece.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Many festivals, concerts, weddings, events, taverns, paniyiri, etc.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

We mainly play Greek folk music, Laiko and Rebetiko.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

As each of our musicians is highly experienced, we have played in many high profile places and festivals.

Do you have different line-up options?

2 Singers, Bouzouki, Violin, Guitar. We also have a 5 piece option that includes an extra instrument (according to your repertoire preferences). It can be Percussions, Kanun, Clarinet, Cretan Lyra, Laouto etc. In case you would like a bigger band, please get in contact. Our lower budget option is 3 piece: Same as the 4 piece option, but with one singer.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely yes, we offer the iPod service. It is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a DJ service via our PA after the final set until the venue closes, we provide this for an additional £150

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1.5 to 2 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can you roam around while you perform?

The nature of our setup requires us to play mainly up on the stage. Our violinist though can play off stage in the middle of the dance circle during the glenti heat! Please request in advance for this option.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

As the Greek Folk repertoire is vast, we cannot write a playlist. We can discuss though the pieces and your geographical musical interest, during our free video call.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

PA yes, fully equipped. No lighting.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If there is a special song (that we do not already know) you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you up to 2 songs. There is a fee of £30 for this service (from the 3rd song) to take into account rehearsal times etc.
