Paper Jam are a high-energy live band built around one simple idea: great songs, played properly, with enough energy to turn a room into a party. Our set spans rock classics, indie favourites, huge singalong anthems and dancefloor-ready bangers, bringing together the songs people know, love and want to hear live. From Oasis and Blur to Reef, Bon Jovi and the big tunes that have filled dancefloors for decades, we’re not interested in sticking rigidly to one genre. If it gets people singing, dancing and putting their phones down for five minutes, it belongs in the Paper Jam set. We’re a proper live band, with guitars, bass, drums and vocals at the heart of what we do. There’s no hiding behind backing tracks or pretending to be a DJ with a guitar. We play the songs live, with the dynamics, spontaneity and energy that make a live performance different from simply listening to a playlist. Expect big guitar sounds, tight rhythms, powerful vocals and plenty of moments where the crowd becomes part of the show. We also understand that playing a great gig isn’t just about knowing the songs. It’s about reading the room. A wedding reception needs something different from a festival, a birthday party needs something different from a corporate event, and a packed pub on a Saturday night has its own particular form of organised chaos. We build our sets to keep the energy moving, know when to let an anthem breathe and when it’s time to turn things up. Paper Jam bring our own professional PA and live sound setup, so we can provide a complete, self-contained performance without asking an event organiser to worry about the technical side of things. We take the same approach to the music: arrive prepared, sound good, play hard and make the evening easier for whoever booked us. We’ve played venues, parties, festivals and events across the South West, and we’re particularly at home when the room is full and the crowd is ready to get involved. Whether we’re opening the evening, providing the main entertainment or taking over the dancefloor later in the night, the aim is always the same: make it feel like a proper gig. Most importantly, Paper Jam are there to make people have a brilliant night. We want the crowd singing the chorus louder than the band, dancing when they thought they wouldn’t, and leaving with that slightly annoying feeling that the evening went far too quickly. Big songs.
