Pam Pecko Smith is a UK-based freelance flutist, vocalist, and music educator performing within an eclectic range of ensembles. Pam is a native of the Philadelphia area where she earned a Bachelor of Music with Honours at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, followed by intensive graduate studies at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, Hungary. Her main mentors and professors were Adeline Tomasone and the late Seán Deibler (in Philadelphia); István Matuz and Ferenc Rados (in Hungary). The Lodore Trio (founded 2011) is a chamber group comprised of flute, viola, and piano. The trio's first album CASCADE was released in 2018, featuring new music by Amanda Lee Falkenberg. The trio's second album RIVULETS (released 2022) features music written for the group by esteemed British composer Graham Willams, as well as works by American flutist/composer Gary Schocker, British-Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova, and young British composer Ed Roberts. In 2017 Pam formed the vintage jazz group Honeysuckle Jazz, specialising in songs from the 1920-40s. The band performs in London and beyond for both public and private functions. Pam's vocal influences draw from Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Janis Joplin, and Joni Mitchell, among others. Pam has performed widely throughout the UK in varied genres spanning orchestral, folk, film music, world music, and jazz. Venues include St. John's Smith Square, LSO St. Luke's, Jazz Cafe POSK, Berkhamsted Jazz Club, Brangwyn Hall, Ely Cathedral, Gloucester Cathedral, the Sheldonian Theatre, to name a few. Festivals in the UK and abroad include the Wireless Festival, Henley Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival. A dedicated teacher of performing ensembles, Pam has served on music faculties in private and international schools in Hungary, Portugal, the US, England, Kenya, Turkey, and Poland. In London she is currently on the music staff at The City Lit, and at Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Community College (RHACC). She also serves as a private music tutor.

Pam is a versatile and stylish singer with a great audience rapport. She is comfortable delivering jazz vocals from the 1920s and the Swing Era through to later jazz standards. She is happy performing in all manner of ensembles, from a soloist with backing tracks, or as part of a duo, trio, quartet, big band, as well as with orchestra.

It was a great privilege to work with the London Film Music Orchestra in 2018, leading to a performance of 3 works of mine at their Christmas concert. The young musicians are truly outstanding, and possibly better than some more experienced orchestras I have worked with! The girls behind the orchestra are supremely dedicated and were a delight to work with. I look forward to our next collaboration in 2020.
