I am a classical pianist and a piano teacher who is teaching in areas such as classical piano repertory and technique; classical music theory, history and harmony; ear training; and ABRSM exam preparations. Along with primary focus on advanced level piano teaching to children from a very young age, I am highly experienced and willing to teach how to play the piano to anyone of any ages at any level. I have completed my undergraduate degree in Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory, piano department with pianist Zeynep Yamanturk. Soon after, I earned my Master of Music (MMus) degree in Istanbul Technical University Center for Advanced Music Studies (MIAM) with Legendary state artist Aysegul Sarica. I am currently working on my PhD thesis. I am specifically interested in performance styles of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel.
Besides my educational background, I am a competent piano teacher with more than 10 years of experience. I have taught piano to amateurs and professionals coming in wide range of interests, starting from 5 up to 50 years of age. I have successfully prepared students for entrance exams of conservatories and helped students get certificates from ABRSM exams. Also, I have experience as a part time academic at 2 conservatories and at Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty in Istanbul. Along with being a piano teacher, I am also a performer. I have enjoyed being on stage for solo recitals, chamber music concerts, accompanying a soloist and as the pianist of Istanbul Film Music Orchestra. My repertoire ranges from early baroque (eg. Scarlatti) to contemporary (eg. Cage, Pärt, Jolivet).
