Originally from Ipswich, Suffolk; award winning trombonist Owen Dawson is now a London based musician with a career including work on the West End (Sinatra: the Man and His Music) and performances with some of the UK’s finest big bands (Hermeto Pascoal, BBC Big Band, Syd Lawrence Orchestra, London Jazz Orchestra). Educated on the prestigious Royal Academy of Music Jazz programme, Owen is also an active composer, pianist and exponent of the electric trombone is situations ranging from free, improvised music to his own project, Big Bad Wolf (www.bigbadwolf.london), an alternative rock band he collaboratively runs with 3 others. Big Bad Wolf have recently been awarded a grant from Help Musicians UK and will be recording an album in summer 2016 to be released in spring 2017. Owen has been the resident pianist of the Blues Kitchen Choir since it's launch in August 2014
