It was such a smooth and joyful experience working with Orpheus Sinfonia.
The Orpheus Sinfonia, orchestra of the Orpheus Foundation, is, under the artistic direction of international cellist and conductor Thomas Carroll, establishing itself as one of the most vibrant, dynamic and inspiring of young orchestras. The Orpheus Sinfonia was founded in 2008 as an orchestra to provide opportunity and support for those exceptionally talented young musicians emerging from study out into the profession. The orchestra attracts the very best of music conservatoire graduates, forming an elite group of performers excelling in artistic distinction. From performing a Beethoven Symphony cycle; working with such world-class soloists as Dame Felicity Lott and Tasmin Little; guest conductor Heinrich Schiff; world premiéres; appearances at international festivals including Windsor, Brighton and Ulverston; and operatic performances, Orpheus Sinfonia provides a broad spectrum of diversity. The orchestra is resident at St George's Hanover Square, alongside performing in many of the UKs leading concert venues, including Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cadogan Hall, Purcell Room and Windsor Castle. Acclaimed for its brimming excitement and sheer enthusiasm for musical life, the Orpheus Sinfonia is fast gaining a reputation for some of the most enraptured performances around thanks, in part, to the generous support of so many established exceptional musicians. It has featured on BBC Radio 3 and the BBC World Service, and has recently released its debut CD on the Signum Classics label. We are delighted to have expanded to encompass outreach work with Trinity Hospice and with students from Fukushima, Japan. In the past year we developed a new series “Beneath the Score”, which has been highly successfully received, and launched the Orpheus Principals. Concert, Orpheus Circle and Chair sponsorship comes from our many generous benefactors.
Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it.
