Currently Assistant Conductor with RCM Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonic, he has held numerous music directorships, assisted Martyn Brabbins, Jonathon Heyward, and studied with Sir Antonio Pappano and Sir Roger Norrington among others. Ondřej is a versatile musician, proficient in symphonic, operatic, choral and contemporary music with a repertoire of 250+ works including Wagner’s Das Rheingold. As a postgraduate conductor at the RCM, Ondřej recently led projects including Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale with Sir Thomas Allen, Beethoven’s Second Symphony, Hannah Kendall’s Verdala, and Stravinsky’s Symphonies of Wind Instruments. He stepped in for Martyn Brabbins at short notice to conduct Thea Musgrave’s Turbulent Landscapes with the RCM Philharmonic. In 2019, Ondřej performed Wagner’s Das Rheingold in Berlin. As Assistant Conductor at Berlin Opera Academy, he performed Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel and was later re-invited to work on Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflöte. As Guest Conductor of VoiceArc, he performed Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and Strauss’ Ariadne aux Naxos. Ondřej was also Principal Conductor of EUMS Sinfonia, and MD of Thomas Coats Memorial Choral Society (works with RCS Symphony).
