It was a pleasure to work with Ondrej Soukup and the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra performing Prokofiev's 3rd Piano Concerto in August 2023. He was very responsive to my playing, and it wasn't a struggle to find the rhythmic energy and precision I had in my mind.

Ondřej’s work ethic and dedication as a musician is simply the best of any musician I know. I had the privilege of working with Ondřej on many occasions, for example in his role as conductor of the Edinburgh University Brass Band when he premiered my piece Musica Universalis. This was a highly enjoyable experience and Ondřej directed the ensemble with professionalism and a cool head, with what I know was a sometimes-challenging piece! During our time as undergraduate students, I accompanied several of his trumpet recitals where he played with energy and passion. I particularly enjoyed the occasions where we performed works by his compatriots, such as Petr Eben’s Fantasia Vespertina!   Since then Ondřej has gone on to demonstrate an inspirational level of talent and knowledge in conducting with some of the most talented ensembles in the world. I cannot recommend Ondřej highly enough for any musical position.
