Oliver has been studying music for a number of years and is currently in his third year at Bath Spa University reading BA Music and minoring in Film and Screen Studies. As part of his recent opera module, Oliver took the lead role as Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and was in the Semi-Chorus in Handel’s Acis and Galatea. Oliver’s passion for singing coincided with moving up to secondary school and the chance to have singing lessons. After just a few weeks he was asked to perform his first solo and since then hasn’t looked back. One of his highest accolades, at the age of eleven, was being chosen to sing to Prince Edward at the opening of his school’s Arts Centre. Studying Music at GCSE and A Level, Oliver gained full marks in all his performance papers and achieved Grade 8 Distinctions in both his Musical Theatre and Classical singing exams. He also represented his school in the Woking Music Festival, winning three classes, and produced, directed and led an 8-part version of Radioactive by Imagine Dragons, winning the Inter House Music competition for his school House, Khartoum. Other opportunities have included singing at weddings, school parades to over 2000 people, retirement parties and local singing competitions. Being diagnosed with Asperger’s, Tourette’s and OCD at the age of ten, has made Oliver’s journey a challenging one, but he firmly believes that it has made him a stronger and more determined person, able to cope with the pressures of a successful singing career. Although most of Oliver's time is spent working around classical music, he is also the lead singer of his band Into The Maelstrom, who perform a variety of acoustic pop/rock covers, and have had great success on YouTube. As well as this, Oliver takes part in several choirs, consisting of the core Bath Spa University Choir, the Chamber Choir and a student led choir. His expertise and experience makes him an ideal choice for all manner of professional gigs from weddings and parties to large scale musical theatre and opera productions. Educated at Gordon’s School in Surrey and currently at Bath Spa University, Oliver has performed in many concerts, shows, weddings and school parades; Acis and Galatea, Dido and Aeneas, Oliver and Grease plus countless musical theatre songs, classical pieces and the occasional rock number! Oliver is an extremely versatile and reliable performer who is equally at ease in both small venues and large scale shows. He has a natural flair for languages and is competent singing in Italian, French and German, as well as English. His natural empathy and absolute passion for both music and drama is what sets him apart from other singers.
