Paulo Seth our guitarist was born in Rio de Janiero and is an experienced guitarist, joined by Colin Seddon another experienced musician specialising in latin drums. For venues further afield, any additional travel costs will be discussed in advance.

Two Hours - Quartet4 musicians2 hours

Our signature offering: a refined two-hour live performance by the full Novalas quartet (vocals, guitar, keys & Latin percussion), shaped to suit the flow of your event. This package is ideal for weddings, drinks receptions, private celebrations and evening cocktail settings. We typically perform in two 60-minute sets with a short interval, allowing the atmosphere to build naturally while giving guests space to mingle and refresh. Expect elegant jazz standards and classic Brazilian bossa nova, delivered with warmth, subtle rhythm and just the right lift when the moment calls for it. Our sound is engaging without overwhelming conversation - perfect for creating a sophisticated backdrop that still feels alive. We bring our own professional PA system and require approximately one hour for setup and soundcheck prior to the performance. The evening can be gently tailored to suit your timings and the tone you’d like to create - from relaxed and understated to a more upbeat cocktail vibe.

Do you have different line-up options?

We perform exclusively as a quartet to maintain the full depth and balance of our sound. Our line-up consists of vocals, piano, double bass and drums, creating a rich but elegant jazz/bossa nova texture that works beautifully for receptions, weddings, and evening events. This allows for warmth and subtlety while still having enough rhythm to lift the room.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We completely understand that event schedules can shift. If you anticipate a change, just let us know as early as possible and we’ll do our best to accommodate it. Advance notice helps us adjust logistics and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We don’t offer a DJ or iPod service as part of our package. We specialise in live performance, but most venues are able to provide background music between sets if required.

How much time do you need to set up?

We require approximately one hour to set up and soundcheck properly. That ensures we’re well prepared, relaxed and ready to sound good.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No — we perform from a fixed stage or performance area. This ensures the best sound quality and a cohesive presentation.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

We’re very happy to consider preferences or favourites from our repertoire, particularly if discussed in advance. We also carefully shape each set to suit the flow and atmosphere of the event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

A professional PA system is included in our quote. Lighting is not included, though most venues provide suitable ambient lighting for performance.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We can consider learning a special request if given sufficient notice, and provided the song suits our style and instrumentation. We’re always happy to discuss this in advance.
