Bulgarian - British cellist Nikolay Ginov is a versatile musician who performs the wide range of repertoire from 17th century music to contemporary music. He has performed throughout the world both as a modern cellist and as a baroque cellist. Nikolay performed in major concert venes in UK such as the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall with various chamber ensembles and orhestras. He is also a member of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and performed under the baton of Sir Roger Norlington, Simon Rattle, in several concert tours and PROMS. As a chamber musician, Nikolay took part in may international festivals such as "Musica Nova - Sofia", " March Music Days in Russe" in Bulgria and "Banff Summer Music Festival" Canada, and "Obersdorf International Summer Festival" Germany. He has worked with internationlly acclaimed ensembles and artists including Sonore String Quartet, London Schubert Player, Laurece Cummings, Yuri Zisrin, to name a few. Prior coming to UK, Nikolay was a soloist of ' Dobrin Petkov" Symphony Orchestra in Plovdiv and "Pancho Vladigerov" Symphony Orchestra in Sofia. He made records for Plovdiv Radio, Bulgaria National Radio ad Television. In UK, he has completed MMus and Fellowship as a modern cellist under Stefan Popov at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and his PGDip as baroque cellist with distinction under Jennifer Ward Clarke at Royal Academy of Music. In RAM, Nikolay was awarded the Peter le Huray Award in 2005, the Leverhulme Award in 2007, a Dip RAM for his outstanding final recital together with a John McAlan Prize in 2008. Nikolay took part in the 2009 Ann and Peter Law scheme of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and since then has performed with the orchestra in many concerts, recordings and tours. He is also a member of the Spirituoso String Quartet.
