My clients have varied over the past decade with some wanting a DJ for their company Christmas party / do and others being families just wanting to celebrate a special birthday. I have provided the sound, lighting and DJ service for 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th birthdays along with few in between like a sweet 16th and even a 29th! Some people have asked for themed nights that focus specifically on a particular genre of the music like Soul and Motown, 70s, 80s, 90s and dance / house music. The venue is your choice as I will travel to your party. I have played music to crowds in nightclubs, bars, pubs, British Legions, railway clubs, village halls, company clubs, hotels, casinos and even a few client homes for NYE / new year's eve. Do you want a DJ who interacts with your guests and enjoys their job? I mix and merge tracks together like any proper DJ should and play what I think the crowd wants while sticking with any guidelines you have provided. If you say no Taylor Swift, no Taylor Swift will be played! If required, I can bring a premium quality German-designed sound system that not only sounds crisp but also looks the part. In addition to that, my lighting is all computer controlled so if you want the dancefloor to be illuminated completely in orange for a moment or maybe a multi-coloured strobe to make you feel like you are in Ibiza, that can be done. I can also project logos or messages on the walls, dancefloor or moving around the room. You may refer to the setup as a mobile disco but things have moved on from the old light boxes seen 20 years ago! For weddings, it is important that the entertainment is organised with the same level of thought as other elements on the day. Many people focus all their time, effort and money on getting the ceremony and food right but forget that the evening is where the most people are likely to be! Do you want your guests to have an enjoyable night, dancing to the music that suits your particular taste? I offer each and every couple I have worked with the opportunity to sit down and discuss how they want me to entertain their guests. You only get married once so I want to make sure my part in that day puts a smile on everybody's face at the end of the night. If you have an idea, tell me about it. One groom who happened to be an excellent Elvis impersonator wanted to sing at his own wedding so we made that happen!

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Please let me know as soons as possible but I have never had a situation where it has been a major problem.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes it can be provided but please state that you require this when asking for a quote.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually need an hour to setup. If it is a large scale event such as a big wedding with very specific timings, I can bring equipment in the day before or earlier on the day of the event. This does of course have to be arranged in advance.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I am always happy to work with a list of songs that mean something to you. I can then fill in the gaps to keep people on the dancefloor. I will always be honest with you if I think a song is not sutiable for a certain time of night!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes. Please state what you require when asking for a quote eg. just lighting if the venue has their own sound system. If I bring my own sound system, it is German designed and very powerful with great clarity for the entire room.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

As I can also produce and edit sound, I am willing to build sequences that create an atmosphere leading up to the first dance at a wedding for instance.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I try to be part of the party and enjoy myself! There's nothing worse than a DJ who does not get involved and just stands there pressing buttons looking bored.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Casinos, night clubs, bars, village halls, pubs, private mansions, competitions, British Legions, town halls and restaurants!

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I'm influenced by all the great musicians that have produced the music I play at your event.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I once provided music at a new year party in the mansion owned by a retail CEO. However, some of my proudest gigs have been in much lower profile venues for somebody's birthday party or wedding. I consider a gig to be successful if the guests have a good time so it does not matter who they are or where it is!
