Heavenly Blues

Heavenly Blues is now in its third reincarnation as a collaboration between local singer Cylvian Flynn and Pianist and Vocalist Alan Rae. Cylvian has a long track record of singing with local bands like Revo6 and Atelier du Soul as well as her alter ego as Just Tina. Alan has played keys for Blues Business, Ugly bugs Blues Band and Kitsch n Sync. He also fronts local band Newick Folk. We’ve played together quite a bit over the last 10 years – Alan played keyboards for Cylvian in Revo6 and in Just Tina. As time goes on, we all like to try our hand at new material. Cylvian wants to explore the full range of her voice while Alan has been studying Jazz piano at the Brighton Jazz School for the last 3 years. So we have decided to put our talents together to perform classics from the American Songbook like Autumn Leaves, Every time we say Goodbye and Bye Bye Blackbird. And of course a few numbers from our existing repertoire like Natural Woman, Midnight Train to Georgia and a couple of Beatles numbers
