Funk’n’Soul Superheroes Near Death Experience (NDX for short) are from Ealing, London and feature an exceptionally talented diverse line up of musicians. Since forming in 2016 and playing Glastonbury 2017, led by soulful, gravel-voiced singer, songwriter and guitarist Ian Whiteling and outrageously groovy bassist Amar Grover, they’ve gained a reputation for highly engaging, emotive live performances and a groove-driven funk'n'soul sound. They've gigged across London and beyond, with standout shows including the Ealing Blues Festival and a return to Glastonbury for the 50th anniversary of the festival. NDX's current highly diverse and international line-up is arguably their best, with Whiteling and Grover now joined by two Brazilians, excellent singer and keyboard player Jamila Nunes (who's also a voice coach and piano teacher) and outstanding guitarist Guilherme Dessuy. Japan's Toko Koko complete's the line-up, electrifying audiences with her mesmerising funky drumming. Since launching the Last Summer EP in 2017, with the title track Summer played by BBC Introducing, NDX have built a highly impressive back catalogue of original groove-driven songs. This includes two albums and a host of singles, all receiving rave reviews from the underground music scene. However, the band not only play their infectiously catchy original songs, but have also created a Funk and Soul Show featuring three sets of irrestistible funk and soul classics. This is supported by a DJ around the live music and cool late night karaoke if required. This has taken NDX beyond the pub, venue and festival circuit onto the private and corporate events scene, where they continue to wow audiences with their fun and highly engaging live shows, providing the ultimate way to get the party going!

“I cannot recommend NDX highly enough! We've had the pleasure of having them at multiple events at our venue, and every single time they deliver a truly professional performance and they are the most genuine and friendly people too. The moment they start playing, something magical happens—people genuinely stop what they are doing and listen. They have a remarkable ability to capture an audience with their energy and sound. Their original songs are incredibly catchy, and they bring a consistently upbeat energy and vibe that elevates the entire atmosphere of the venue. Without fail, I always receive positive feedback from audience members whenever this band is on the bill. If you're looking for reliable professionalism, captivating music, and a band that will leave a fantastic impression, look no further.” Tom Lukas, London Unplugged.
