British violinist Natasha Humphries is currently in the final year of her undergraduate degree at the Royal College of Music, studying with Radu Blidar. She has performed solo recitals in venues around the UK, including Beaconsfield URC Church, Christchurch Priory, and St. Lawrence’s Church in West Wycombe. Natasha has also appeared as a soloist with the Wycombe Sinfonia, performing Bruch Violin Concerto No.1. She is a well-known musician in and around Buckinghamshire, where she grew up leading the top youth orchestras and performing in festivals with various chamber groups, winning many prizes. As a keen orchestral player, Natasha was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain from 2016 to 2018. Highlights of her time with the NYO include performing at the BBC Proms and going on tour to France to perform at the Berlioz Festival. In 2019, she toured Russia and the UK with the Britten Shostakovich Festival Orchestra, and in 2021 she was Co-Principal 2nd Violin in the Chipping Campden Festival Academy Orchestra, where she was mentored by Richard Milone and Ruth Rogers, leaders of the Glyndebourne Tour Orchestra and London Mozart Players respectively. She has been Principal 2nd Violin and Co-Leader for several RCM orchestral projects, and now performs regularly with professional UK orchestras including the BBC Concert Orchestra, Glyndebourne Touring Orchestra, London Contemporary Orchestra, CHROMA Ensemble, and Heritage Orchestra. Also a passionate chamber musician, Natasha is a founding member and 1st violinist of the Morassi Quartet since 2018, which she formed with fellow RCM students Katie Mazur, Toby Warr and Iza Stefańska. They have been selected to perform in many prestigious events at RCM, and in May 2021 were invited by Fever UK to perform candlelight concerts to large audiences across London, which they continue to do regularly. The quartet receive regular guidance from the Head of Strings at the RCM Mark Messenger, and coaching and masterclasses with renowned chamber musicians such as Simon Rowland-Jones, Yuri Zhislin, and Gaby Lester. Natasha has performed in renowned concert halls across the UK, including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Centre, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Snape Maltings, and Glyndebourne, and has shared the stage with great artists such as Jennifer Pike, Steven Osborne, and Paul Lewis. In September 2022, she will stay at the RCM to pursue a Master’s degree with a scholarship. Natasha was amazing throughout the experience pre and post-booking, and even more so on our wedding day when she delivered amazing music. We had suggested songs we wanted played at our civil ceremony and she took the time to learn them, and play them flawlessly at our civil ceremony. It wasn’t just us who loved her performance - our guests were in awe with her skill and have continuously commented on what a nice addition to the wedding Natasha and her violin were. We’d highly recommend her and hope to be able to utilise her services again in future. Thanks, Natasha!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Previous clients have praised my sound, musicality and stage presence when I perform.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

A wide variety of venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall Birmingham, Cadogan Hall, Leeds Town Hall, Usher Hall in the UK. I've also performed internationally in places such as Prague, Salzburg, Frankfurt, Milan, Genoa, Paris, Sochi, Moscow and St Petersburg. As well as concert halls, I have performed in recital halls and venues for events.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Such a wide range! I have a long list of classical composers and musicians that constantly inspire me, as well as many artists of pop, jazz, folk and R&B genres.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Twice at the BBC proms at the Royal Albert Hall in 2017 and 2018, both televised on BBC 4.

Do you have different line-up options?

I usually play solo acoustic violin, however I am happy to play amplified with a microphone if this can be provided. I can also bring a backing track, and it may sometimes be possible for me to play with another violinist as a duo or with piano. Feel free to ask.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

That is no problem! I am very flexible with timings.

How much time do you need to set up?

Around 10-15 minutes without a PA system, 15-30 minutes with a PA system.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I am very open to discussing the setlist, and I am sure I can play songs by your request.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I bring my own violin to play. I can also bring a piano backing track and speaker to play this back on if you would like this. I'm also happy to use a PA system for amplification if this can be provided.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song is not included in my song list, there is still a big chance that I already know it or I can learn it!
