Natalie Halliday

Natalie is from Malvern and started learning the cello aged 7. In 2009 she started an honours degree in Music and German at Sheffield University, studying the cello with Jennifer Round. During her time at Sheffield University she spent a year abroad studying at the Music School and University in Hamburg. She has recently completed her MA in Music Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, generously funded by the EMI Music Sound Foundation, where she studied with Alice Neary. During her time at RWCMD Natalie took part in many masterclasses with international artists such as Paul Watkins and Natalie Clein. She was also successful in gaining places on the BBC National Orchestra of Wales Placement Scheme and Welsh National Opera’s side-by-side projects. Natalie is now working in Cardiff as a freelance teacher and performer. She enjoys a varied career as a performer, including playing with orchestras, quartets, for musicals and doing session work.
