Myriam Lowe

Myriam is a final-year Music undergraduate at Girton College, Cambridge. She has received several academic and musical awards, including the Daphne Bird Instrumental Exhibition, the Girton Pioneer Award, and the First-Class Sophia Turtle Scholarship, in recognition of academic excellence. She is a member of the CAMRAM scheme, studying vocal studies and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music with Piran Legg and Carole Cerasi. Myriam has recently performed as a soloist on BBC Radio 3 ‘In Tune’ and the Spanish National Radio (RNE). Her baroque ensemble, Lowe Ensemble, with whom she performs as a singer and harpsichordist, has recently completed a UK Tour, which culminated with a performance in the National Centre for Early Music. The ensemble performs nationally and internationally and has been invited to the APAC Festival in Bolivia, one of the world’s largest Baroque music festivals, the ECOS festival in Spain, the Brighton Early Music Festival, Stoke and Newington Festival and Nantwich Festival. Myriam is experienced in music outreach, working with Young Sounds, and leading workshops in schools, centres for adults with learning disabilities and prisons. Her education has been supported by numerous awards and scholarships, including the Monica & Quintin Des Clayes Award from Young Sounds, granted annually to twenty-five promising young UK musicians from low-income backgrounds, as well as grants from the Rob George Foundation and the Miss E. B. Wrightson Charitable Trust.
