About My Tin Monkey

Live music, a great show and all with an Irish flavour.
Party band
Bristol
Public liability insurance of £1 million

Finding the best tunes we can, putting our twist on them and delivering them to you with foot tapping style. As a band, we’ve been told we’re rather good. With a welcome absence of choreographed dance routines, and set lists as diverse as Irish & English folk, punk, disco and Meatloaf, we rely on our experience as musicians to pull out all the stops so we can ensure that everyone has a great time. But don’t take our word for it, have a look online, find a gig near you and come and see us yourself.

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

Absolutely - Bart is the singer and guitarist for My Tin Monkey. It'll be him. There may be very rare occasions when one or other of the musicians can't make a booking. In these cases we'll either propose an auditioned understudy, or play as a duo. We will discuss with you first if there are any changes to the lineup.

Do you have different line-up options?

We can do a variety of line-ups to suit you and your event - we can also do different options through the day if required. Always happy to talk about options. As a three piece party band - Vocals, guitar, fiddle and percussion As a duo - Vocals, guitar and percussion; or - Violin & guitar (and vocals) Solo performers: - Violin; or - Vocals & guitar

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Within reason, that won't be a problem. We only book one performance a day, so we're basically yours to do with as you wish! Just keep us informed and we'll do all we can to make sure we still all have a great time.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely, We often do this and can either taylor a playlist to your requirements, or if you want to put a spotify playlist together and share it, we can play that If you'd like a DJ service via our PA with lights and smoke after the final set until the venue closes, we can provide this for an additional £100

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually take about an hour to set up and soundcheck. After this,we can start playing music through our PA to create the atmosphere. Happy to talk about playlists and options.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course you can - we love playing as wide a variety of songs as we can. We do, however, have experience as to what works well to get a party going and keep people out of their chairs dancing. So we're more than happy to talk things through, but we'll also add our experience to the mix as well so it's a great night!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yup . PA, lights, smoke machine, all the instruments, cables, bags, kit and caboodle.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We'd love to give it a go. If we don't know the song there might be a small fee of around £30-£45 for a couple of hours in a rehearsal room to nail it, but if it's a special song for you, then we'll do our best to learn anything.

We had My Tin Monkey for our wedding after the breakfast and before the night's disco. Everyone loved them. All the guests were up dancing and singing along. Can't rate them highly enough. It was definitely the highlight of our day and we know that all of our guests would agree. Loved it!

My Tin Monkey were absolutely perfect for our wedding. They're fun, lively and played all the best songs to get our guests dancing and enjoying themselves! Thank you so much. They even learnt a number of songs specifically for us that I could sing with my dad on harmonica too. Awesome!
