Korean Violinist MunJeong Kim won a place to The Purcell School of Music in the UK at the age of 12 and was a holder of a scholarship given by the government’s music and dance scheme where she studied with Nathaniel Vallios and Evgeny Grach. MunJeong is now a postgraduate student with Itzhak Rashkovsky at the Royal College of Music in London having graduated with a Bachelor of Music Hons.
She has performed as a soloist with orchestras, as a chamber musician and as an orchestral player around the UK in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Windsor Castle, Westminster Abbey, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Saatchi Gallery, Royal Festival Hall, Elgar room in the Royal Albert Hall and Buckingham Palace.
In 2009 she played Bruch Scottish Fantasy with Wantage Orchestra. MunJeong participated in the Academia International music festival, in Solsona, Spain involving teachers such as Sergey Ostrovsky, Andriy Viytovych and Gustav Rivinius. MunJeong also was given masterclasses from Rivka Golani and Krzysztof Smietana at the New Virtuosi music course. She was a semi- finalist in Padova competition in Italy in 2015, third prize in YMCA compeition and first prize in US music competition and awards from many other places.
Since studying at the RCM MunJeong has undertaken masterclasses with Marc Danel, Ani Schnarch, Magnus Ericcson and Alina Ibragimova. She also had the opportunities to have coachings with Lukas Hagen, Rainer Schmidt and Herald Herzl in Mozarteum university of Salzburg, Austria. She has recently won first prize in Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition and has recently performed in Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Rome as a prize winner in December 2017.
