MonoChromatix is a 6-piece jazz band that can transport you back to the Jazz Age of the Roaring 20s, with a mixture of early jazz dance styles and modern songs in a vintage style. We focus on traditional dixieland jazz, but also do a range of swing, novelty and blues numbers. Our authentic vintage instrumentation can give your event that Gatsby flair. The band can be used as foreground party, or background lounge music, for which the personnel can be adapted to some extent. We offer a large (and constantly growing) customised set list of songs to tailor the event to your needs. If a song you want is not on our set list we will arrange it free of charge (this does not include the first dance at weddings; think of it as our wedding gift). We can also construct a playlist to play in between sets should you wish. The band comes with a PA system, sound engineer, Public Liability Insurance, and stage lights as standard.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We try to be as flexible as possible and ask our performers to keep the day free. Just keep an open dialogue with us about timings as we know things change. If the length of time we are needed increases then this may increase the fee.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can provide a playlist of background jazz before and between sets, but not after a set. This is complimentary.

How much time do you need to set up?

90 minutes of set up time (in which we can sound check) is ideal.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Set lists are built from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. As long as we know what you'd like the guests to feel/experience (dancing, classy background music etc). If there are particular requests we can see what we can do. For weddings we can provide whatever first dance song you want.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes. We tend to need 6x6m for a full band so everyone has enough space.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes - this is on a case-by-case basis and additional fees may be added if we haven't already got access to the arrangement.
