Verified profile

I am based in Norfolk, but I am happy to travel depending on location, please don’t hesitate to ask. I am experienced in playing at many events in the UK and abroad from small local performances with my bands, private events such as funerals etc. and Military Tattoos. I have an extensive repertoire, but I am always happy to learn a tune if required specifically for an occasion. (if it is possible play on the pipes due to the limited amount of notes). I am happy to discuss with you, the requirements of your event to ensure you are happy and to know what to expect. I am willing to play at events such as funerals, weddings, birthday parties, Burn’s nights, New Year’s Eve etc. I can help to suggest tunes and particular times during your event when a piper might play. In regards to the uniform I wear, you can choose either the uniform I am wearing in my profile picture or something a little more casual as in my other pictures. My tartan is a red-based McLachlan tartan, but should you wish me to wear a different coloured tartan to co-ordinate with your event, I am happy to do so but maybe subject to additional expense to yourself. I could also provide drummers, a mini band or a full band if required, just ask. Most recently I have appeared in a multi-million pound Bollywood movie sequel which was only released in October 2019.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I will always try my best to be flexible to help your event runs as smoothly as possible. Please let me know as soon as possible if times/dates of your event changes and if I am not free I will try to find a replacement performer. If that is not possible I will let you know as soon as possible

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Should you wish for other music such as a DJ between my performance times then that is best organised by you.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually like to arrive at the venue in good time to enable me to view my performance area and plan any last minute details. I also require a short warm up time of my instrument, so approximately 30 minutes should be ok.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Of course. I am also happy to try and accommodate requests of pieces that may also not be on the list. I usually prefer to set this information ahead of the event so I am confident in my performance, although depending on the request, I can take requests on the day

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes. I bring my own instrument to play acoustically, and by special request, I can also bring a backing music CD to play on a PA system to play my bagpipes to as something that is a little different although tunes for this are limited

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a specific tune is not included on my list there may still be a chance that I will know it. I am also happy to learn a new tune as long as it can be played and sound ok on the bagpipes as there is only a limited number of notes that can be played. I would ask if you can give me a minimum of 4 weeks to learn any new tunes to a sufficient standard

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Past clients have been most grateful from the service and helpfulness I have provided

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

As a member of the Phoenix Pipes And Drums, Watton and the massed pipe band the Southern Highlanders Pipe’s And Drums Birmingham Tattoo Berlin Tattoo Battle of Arnhem commemorations War Widows parade - London Various local carnivals, fete’s , Remembrance Day parades etc. Plus as a solo piper Local funerals, Burn’s Nights etc.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

In the UK it would be the War Widows parade or the Sandringham Flower Show, and I have also appeared in a multi-million pound Bollywood movie sequel which was released in October 2019. Abroad would be Berlin Tattoo, the Battle of Arnhem commemorations and the Eksjö Tattoo in Sweden
