Michael Hope

Based in Manchester, and with an additional North London base, Michael Hope is a pianist and singer specialising in Jazz Music, with wide ranging and regular experience of playing solo, duo, small ensemble and Big Band repertoire with numerous groups. Michael has also spent the last four years studying for a diploma in composition at the Royal Northern College of music, and has abundant experience of arranging for a wide range of ensembles and styles. For almost two decades Michael has studied piano, specialising in Jazz performance for nearly a third of that time. He is a highly able and confident singer as well, with a wide wealth of experience of singing with both small groups and large choirs, as well as in a solo context, in many prestigious venues, including London’s Wigmore Hall. Michael is a very able sight-reader who is extremely quick to learn new songs and pieces to suit the demands of any occasion, learning both by ear as well as through notation. Michael can also adapt with remarkable ease to the requirements of any event, and is comfortable playing in a wide range of styles in addition to jazz, such as classical, pop, rock, funk and many others.
