Aescer (Michael Ford)

Aescer is a composer, producer, copyist and concert manager living in Huddersfield and working in the Leeds/Manchester area. He is a contemporary classical musician, undertaking projects in all genres, from classical to rock/pop, music theatre/dance and music for soundtracks (games, films, television and incidental music). He has a BA(Hons) in Music Technology from at Huddersfield University and an MMus in Film and Game Composition from Leeds College of Music. In addition to his own work as a composer, producer and session musician, Aescer also provides support to any musician who struggles with the technological aspects of music making. He offers one-to-one and group teaching sessions on various aspects of music technology and computers and undertakes typesetting, scoring, arranging and orchestration for production-based musicians who are unfamiliar with the conventions of classical notation’. He has worked with prestigious composers on some amazing projects, most notably his work with Nitin Sawhney on BBCs Human Planet series. Aescer is also a prolific songwriter. He has released three full-length albums and two EPs on his own independent record label. He collaborates regularly with other performers as a producer and songwriter, and enjoys working with colleagues whose musical vision complements his own.
