Melody Lin earned a fully-funded scholarship to attend Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance for an MA degree, having completed a bachelor’s degree from the Royal College of Music, and has studied under internationally recognized musicians including Richard Lester, Michael Reynolds, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi and Ling-Yi Ouyang. She has been a recipient of the Trinity Laban Scholarship, Joan Andrews Scholarship, Kathleen Trust, Chizel Trust, Neville Wathen Scholarship and the Amaryllis Fleming Award. In 2018/19, she received a fully funded scholarship with generous contributions from the Derek Butler Award, Tillett Trust and the Drake Calleja Trust. Melody’s recent solo recitals include the Wolfson College of Cambridge University, St James’s Piccadilly and London Cello Society’s “Go Cello!” opening concert. Melody was a joint winner at the Vera Kantrovitch Competition and, with pianist Andrea Emanuele, winner at the Leonard Smith & Felicity Young Duo Competition 2018. Her chamber projects include the Mellanie Piano Trio, supported by the Concordia Foundation and the Melart Duo, with pianist Artur Haftman, who were supported by the Polish Music Society and toured Poland in 2016. Melody is currently a member of Southbank Sinfonia, and she plays on a cello by the Klotz family from late 18th century, generously supported by professor Derek Aviss.
