Mehreen Shah has established herself as an accomplished and versatile soprano in opera, concert, recital, and musical theatre. She studies with internationally renowned soprano Olivia Whelan. In 2011, Mehreen graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA (Hons) in Music, gaining the highest mark in her year for her final Recital. Opera roles include Violetta/Annina (La Traviata), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Monica (The Medium), Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Louisa (A Feast in Time of Plague), Despina (Cosi fan Tutte), Le Canapé (L’Enfant et les Sortileges), Cupid (Orpheus in the Underworld) and Yum-Yum (The Mikado, International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival, Harrogate). Mehreen has performed as a soloist in many prestigious venues including St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, Wells Cathedral, Bath Abbey, Highcliffe Castle and The Turner Sims Concert Hall. She has worked with many notable conductors including Jason Thornton (Bath Philharmonia), Gavin Carr (Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra/Chorus) and Nicholas Jenkins (Glyndebourne). She recently created and performed a series of concerts celebrating the centenary of Leonard Bernstein, including a performance at Brighton Fringe Festival. Mehreen regularly performs at weddings, funerals/memorial services and corporate events. She is skilled in learning music quickly, and can therefore perform particular requests you may have, otherwise she will be happy to suggest music ideas for your event.

I could have listened all day & evening to Mehreen, I cannot recommend her beautiful talents enough. Professional, friendly & a joy to organise our wedding blessing with, my only regret was our blessing wasn’t longer so we could have heard more. Our guests loved hearing her sing in the church, it made a beautiful day so much more memorable .

We hired Mehreen to sing at our Christmas Ball. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a classical singer. What a voice! She sang classical and modern opera to suit our theme. She was professional at all times. Communication with Mehreen was excellent, answering my questions no matter how small. I will be keeping Mehreen's details on file for future events and I will certainly be recommending her to others.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I will always do my best to work around your event, and if anything changes, i.e. date, time, location, music requests etc., please let me know as soon as you can and I'll do what I can to accommodate.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I can provide background/ambient instrumental music before and/or after the event if required, depending on the nature of the event (extra charge applies).

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually require about an hour to set up and prepare, which includes changing into appropriate concert dress, warming up, and setting up my PA system for backing tracks (if applicable).

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I'm happy to create a suitable setlist/programme of songs/arias depending on the type of event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes - depending on the event, I can provide my own PAT tested PA system, microphone and music stand if required. I am also happy to work with an accompanist ( e.g. pianist, organist, guitarist) if provided.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If you have a particular song or two in mind for your event, I would be happy to perform them! If it is a song I am not familiar with however, I would kindly request a fee of £50 per song to cover rehearsal time, sourcing and purchasing of sheet music/backing tracks, etc.
