Maya McCourt is a London-based cellist and vocalist. A graduate of the University of Edinburgh (1st Class Hons), Maya now teaches and gigs extensively with a number of bands. She currently teaches privately, and has taught in Russia, Croatia and the Gambia. She currently plays with acclaimed alt-country singer Dana Immanuel, in her Stolen Band and is one half of folk duo Various Guises. Maya has played across the UK and Europe, including at Glastonbury Festival, Dranouter Festival, Belgium, and National Portrait Gallery, London. She has recorded for Bengali singer Sahana Bajpaie, Lloyd Williams, Winterfalle, Tom Hyatt, Emily Mae Winters, Hattie Marsh, Kitty Macfarlane among others. She currently tutors privately and is available for teaching, session work, and performing.
