Professional Trumpet player based in London.

Inspired by a Brass Quintet visit to his school, Matt began to play the Trumpet when he was 9 years old at the Havering Music Service where he stayed a student until 2013.  Matt was previoulsy a student at Junior Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. During his time there, Matt was Lead Trumpet in the Junior Trinity Big Band, Joint Principal Trumpet in the Symphony Orchestra, Principal Trumpet of the Wind Orchestra and a Bass in the Four-Part Choir. Performances include Britten's 'Four Sea Interludes' at Blackheath Halls,  'Amore de mi Alma' at Birmingham Symphony Hall and Wagner's 'Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg' at the LSO St. Lukes. Matt is currently studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. He is also a musician in the National Youth Music Theatre UK and NYJO Academy Big Band's Lead Trumpet. Alongside these commitments, Matt loves to pass on his knowledge through teaching. Matt is a member of two Brass chamber groups; Thames Brass Quintet and Stentato Brass Dectet, and gives regular performances around London and the South East. Matt studies Trumpet with Andy Hendrie, John Barclay and Mike Lovatt. As a crossover player, Matt can play in many different styles. These include Jazz, Pop, Classical, Big Band, Musical Theatre and Latin to name a few. Matt also seeks advice and knowledge from other professional Trumpet players in and around London. These include masterclasses with players such as Paul Mayes, Paul Archibald, Paul Beniston, Nick Thomson and Gábor Tarkövi.

Wow what can I say, Thames Brass are fantastic and made our wedding even more special! I asked them to play and learn 3 songs, which they happily did. Definitely will be booking them again for any event I have, next year is a big anniversary for my parents and I will be asking them to play again but the only difference is I will request them for a longer time!

Matt was pefect and faultless in all, and performed a very melancholy rendition of Autumn Leaves for us and played my Fthers trumpet, which was lovely for us all to hear it in full song again. He was the icing on the cake of what was a lovely ceremony. Many thanks Matt

We cannot thank this band enough! They were so easy to deal with from start to finish, catered for all our requests and were really helpful. We had such an amazing wedding and these guys topped off a great day. All of our guests have said how much they loved them and everyone was on the dance floor all night!
