Matthew Elderton-Lewis

Hailing from Essex, United Kingdom, Matthew Elderton-Lewis is a composer and conductor whose infectiously passionate personality and musical talent is continuing to emerge onto the contemporary classical and multimedia stage of the creative arts. With his style being described as both idiosyncratic and memorably melodic, Matthew started to gain recognition after being awarded the MMus Prize for Outstanding Achievement for his postgraduate degree. Matthew has been composer in residence for Royal Holloway Picture Gallery, written for Carla Rees for PLAY Festival and by Belle Quartet for their upcoming EP. He has received a multitude of performances and workshops for his concert compositions by Ligeti Quartet, Phacelia Ensemble, Riot Ensemble, Chroma Ensemble, Belle Quartet, LCM Big Band and the collegiate Royal Holloway Chapel Choir to name a few. As well as his increasing concert portfolio, Matthew is also a successful multimedia composer working on adverts, scoring competitions, trailers and short films. Most recently, he worked on Paul G Raymond’s The Suicide which is set to release on the international film circuit later this year.
