Matthew's reputation as an exciting blues/rock guitar showman in France was powerfully showcased by 'The Cuts' at Coupe Gorge, Parthenay, and with Archie Lee Hooker, Moncoutant, capturing his dynamic playing and entertaining style. He was a special guest of Cactus Riders, having already cemented his reputation in his first incarnation, 'Line of Fire', in the UK. In London, Matthew played alongside his special guest and friend Papa George, one of the UK's finest blues artists. Matthew performed with the legendary Tami Lynn (Rolling Stones, Dr. John), re-arranging and performing the US/UK chart hit "I'm Gonna Run Away from You" in Florida with the US Stones. Matthew Colthup is a composer of original works and has recently demo recorded an album of original material to showcase his single ‘’Paper in Your Fire’’. The ‘Swingin’ Guitar Man’ EP including ‘Cooking on Steam’ and ‘Oh Pretty Woman’ is his latest release ; three tracks that chronicle his song writing and instrumental career in Line of Fire between 1996- 2009 and as a solo artist, alongside his recording relationship with the acclaimed London producer Tony M Lyons (GTO/Warner Bros/The Scene) are now remastered by Tom Pearce (Elton John / Eric Clapton / Jeff Beck) and released across all major streaming platforms.
