What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Normally this will not be a problem at all, just let me know of the change and I'll accommodate. For performances where I'm travelling large distances and the timings are late in the evening I will need notifying a little in advance, so that I can organise travel accordingly.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

No, sadly not.

How much time do you need to set up?

Dependant on the style of performance it can range. Acoustic would normally be around 15 - 20 mins to check sound levels. Electronic can take up to 45 mins to ensure all equipment is working and balanced in sound.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Of course! I will provide you with a set list in advance and double check that you're happy with it. If you don't like a song or would prefer another, I'll swap it for a new request. If there's a limited time, we can discuss options from songs I already know how to play.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I can provide instruments and microphones, but at this stage I am dependant on venue providing a PA or amplification.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes, unless it's Dragonforce.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I am very social, polite and communicative with my clients, and I like to think my professionalism and enthusiasm puts people at ease. I shine most when performing delicate folk songs such as The Detectorist by Johnny Flynn, and my performance style has been most appreciated at weddings and proposals.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Noteably The Roundhouse Beach Stage, Sonisphere Festival, Sebright Arms, various venues with Sofar Sounds, The Good Ship, The Troubadour, and many small and large across the UK.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Radiohead, Bon Iver and Jeff Buckley have crept into my performance and writing style most, but when performing covers I really love to explore multiple genres and styles.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

That would be between Sonisphere Festival and Radio One, both with different performance styles.

Louise & I booked Matt to play at our wedding ceremony. Right from the start Matt was very professional, keeping in contact and always giving updates regarding our song list that we had given him. A week or so before the day, Matt met with us at the chapel and was able to suggest a different guitar that would enhance the acoustics of the venue. Again he was very friendly and knowledgeable. On the day he arrived in good time and wowed the guests with his singing and guitar playing. I think Matt certainly added to our special day and made it more memorable. I would certainly recommend Matt to anyone who requires a musician for any occasion. Thanks Matt!
