Matt Furness

Matt Furness started playing drums at the age of 8 studying the Rockschool exams, completing his Grade 8 at the age of 14, passing with a distinction. Throughout his school life he played with the Rock Workshop, the School Band and the School Jazz Band which also provided plenty of variety in musical styles. He was the resident drummer for the Norwich Jazz Jam for 8 years, playing with experienced professional musicians gaining invaluable experience in a jam session without the benefit of extensive preparation. Matt was the drummer for Groovapolitan, a Norwich based party and disco band, the covers band About Them Shoes who played gigs in and around South Norfolk, the Mojo Preachers and for the Clare Free Band. He is often asked to play with other bands and in musical productions. Matt is a member of the Musician’s Union, and so has Public Liability insurance in place for all his drumming activities, and is also fully checked by the DBS.
