Originally from Brisbane, Australia and now based in London, Matt Copley is a professional singer, pianist, trumpeter and live looper with over 11 years of full-time performing experience. Trained at the prestigious Queensland Conservatorium of Music (Australia), Matt combines formal musical education with years of real-world performance to deliver polished, engaging entertainment for every occasion. We had Matt as a musician at our wedding and he was amazing! Super easy to communicate with prior to the event and responded quickly to our questions! Very professional on the day, set up his own equipment quickly and communicated with our wedding coordinator well. Music was great, we got a lot of compliments on the day and our wedding venue even asked if they could put him down as a recommended vendor for their venue! Would recommend Matt to anyone looking for some groovy tunes to complement their event!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients love that I create the perfect atmosphere for every stage of an event. From relaxed cocktail hours and elegant dinners to lively celebrations, I tailor every performance to suit the moment. My combination of vocals, piano, trumpet and live looping creates a unique live experience that guests remember long after the event.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Before moving to London, Matt performed professionally for over 11 years across Australia, appearing regularly at The Star Brisbane, QPAC, The Tivoli, The Princess Theatre and the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, as well as hundreds of weddings, corporate events and private functions throughout South East Queensland.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My style has been influenced by artists such as Billy Joel, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Andy Grammer, Charlie Puth, Stevie Wonder and George Ezra. Their songwriting, musicianship and ability to connect with audiences have shaped my approach to creating engaging live performances that suit every occasion.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

One of my career highlights was performing as the trumpeter for the Dolphins, a professional Australian rugby league team. I performed at every home game in front of crowds of more than 50,000 at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium, with each game broadcast live across Australia. It was an incredible experience and a true privilege.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Absolutely! I understand that plans can change, and I'll always do my best to accommodate any updates to your schedule, just let me know when you know!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely! I'm happy to provide background music before, between and after my live sets. Music between sets is included free of charge to keep your event running seamlessly.

How much time do you need to set up?

I typically require 30–45 minutes to set up and sound check. I'll always arrive with plenty of time to ensure everything is ready before your event begins.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely! My repertoire has been carefully crafted over many years to create the perfect atmosphere and flow for live events. That said, I'm always happy to include special requests wherever possible. If there's a particular song you'd love to hear, just let me know in advance and I'll do my very best to learn and include it in your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Absolutely! I bring all of the professional equipment needed for my performance, including sound equipment where required, so you can relax knowing everything is taken care of.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes! I love helping make each event unique. If there's a special song that's meaningful to you, simply let me know in advance and I'll be delighted to do my best to learn and perform it on the day.
