I began studying the Violin at the age of 8, and won a place at the Royal College of Music Junior department at 14. While studying for my degree at Trinity college of music, I won the John Barberolli String Quartet prize with the Tyler Quartet, and was also (at the time) the youngest person to win the TCM association Soloist competition, playing Bartok’s 2nd Violin concerto in St John’s Smith Square with TCM Sinfonia. I am now a violinist and suzuki violin teacher. I have performed as a chamber musician with many ensembles including Symposia string quartet and the Asaph ensemble, and as a soloist in venues such as St Martin in the Fields and Holy Trinity Brompton. I also worked as a session Violinist, more notably for Littlewoods and Oatibix adverts, with the bootleg beatles, and once for an episode of Rogue Traders! In May 2012 I performed live on 'Later Live with Jools Holland' with singer Ren Harvieu. In 2006 I joined the Eleos Ensemble, a Flute and String Trio who perform arrangements of popular classics, many of which are their own arrangements. Since joining, I have toured with Eleos in Poland, Romania, Turkey and Scotland, and performed in a range of venues in the UK. A while after joining the Eleos Ensemble I began training as a Suzuki Violin teacher, becoming accredited in 2008. I also perform with various orchestras, including the New London Soloists Orchestra, Garden Opera, Adoramus Orchestra, which I led on tour to Italy and kings chamber orchestra. I have recently been performing as a soloist and as part of a violin Piano duo with Merel Van Der Knoop. We have performed in many destinations on board P&O ships, churches, care homes and hospitals.

I would like to thank Mary firstly for the very professional way in which she undertook the engagement. From communication prior to the event arriving and setting up and the manner in which she conducted herself throughout. More importantly I would like to thank her for the wonderful selection of music she made and the excellent way in which she played. Her performance added real ambiance to an important family celebration. I would readily engage her again should a suitable occasion arise and have no hesitation in recommending her to other potential clients. Again many thanks Mary Best Wishes Chris Fassam

Mary was an amazing addition to our daughter’s wedding proceedings. She played an outstanding set, was ever present but unobtrusive and brought a class and elegance to the event that was sparkling. Most fully recommend Mary as a violinist to really bring your event to life.

Thank you so much for playing at our wedding ceremony. Our family and friends were pleasantly surprised we had a violinist. We had many comments from them of how wonderful your music was and how it helped to make a very special occasion even more special. Hearing the music that we had hand-picked as I walked down the aisle sent tingles down my spine. From start to finish it really was beautiful. Thank you Mary. I would just like to say a HUGE thank you. You were amazing on our wedding day and left people in tears, including myself!!! You sounded perfect in every way. Thank you for learning the extra Disney songs that I requested. I was singing along in the church, when I wasn't crying!!! All the best Mary. X x
