All These Things That I've Done
Fancy something a bit different? I love playing all the party tracks and seeing a busy dancefloor. If you enjoy other styles of music as well I also enjoy performing tracks by bands such as: The Doors, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, The Cure, Depeche Mode and lots of others. Just ask!
What if my timings change after I've booked you?
That's fine, it happens! Try to give me as much advance notice as you can but it really shouldn't be a problem.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Of course, I offer this service for free and you can even pick some songs if you want to. If you would like a DJ service after your event get in touch and I'll be happy to offer a quote based on your requirements. £100 is the standard for an additional DJ service.
How much time do you need to set up?
A minimum of 30mins with access to the performance space. If it suits your event I like to set up a bit earlier and put on a playlist that suits your event to create the ideal atmosphere.
Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?
Always happy to take requests! I build setlists to suit each individual event. I love getting people up on the floor and singing along. However, no one wants the singer drowning everyone out if your night starts with a quiet meal. Happy to chat and get what works for your event.
Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?
Yes, I bring all my own equipment. I use only top of the range professional sound reinforcement equipment. I'm also an experienced and qualified sound-engineer so things will sound as they should! No annoying feedback or anything like that. I also love my guitars and play only high end instruments.
Can you learn specific pieces before the event?
If a song isn't included in my song list there's still a good chance that I already play it. I'll do my best to accommodate any tracks that you would want and am happy to do so.
What do your clients love most about your performances?
My acoustic shows carry a real punch - when we want them to. Many clients have pointed out that I really bring an acoustic guitar to life.
Which venues have you performed at in the past?
I've performed at hundreds of events over the years from large venues to small private events. The standout venues would be: O2 ABC Main stage; BBC Radio Scotland; Radio Clyde; STV (Scottish Television); St Lukes; Oran Mor Venue; Stereo; STAR Folk Club; Edinburgh Jazz Festival.
Which artists have you been most influenced by?
I play in various bands and as a solo artist across multiple genres - so my influences are far-reaching. For events playing acoustic covers I would say 50's, 60's and 70's are my biggest influences. I do enjoy rock n roll, 60's beat bands and Motown as well as some 80's material. But the gig is more about what you like.
What is the most high profile gig you've performed?
Headlining the O2 ABC Main Stage in Glasgow is definitely up there. It's a historic venue even from the days as a cinema before it hosted music events. I've seen many great acts there. It takes on special significance after the fire in 2018.
