Martin is a very experienced keyboardist and pianist having played with a number of bands, both rock and ska, before founding his exciting new ska and reggae project, Skamungas, in February 2017. The project is causing a real buzz in the area to the West of London and beyond and already Skamungas are being chased by venues and promoters for gigs. Martin also plays with one of the best UK Beatles tributes,The Dung Beatles; a band filling theatres all over the south of England and looking to expand their hinterland to an ever wider audience. Martin's most recent venture is to construct a solo piano show which consists of a vast range of pop and rock songs which he has rearranged for solo performance, mixed in with a smattering of blues and classical. Prices included on this page are for the solo piano show.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I'll be as flexible as possible. If dates change I will need to check my availability. I can accommodate time changes within the day itself within reason.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I can play music through my iphone into my amplifier. If you have a specific song list, I can compile the list for you. No extra cost.

How much time do you need to set up?

For my solo show, an hour is plenty of time.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

“Yes, of course - as long as the piano is in working order and in tune, then I'm happy to play on it!”

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

I'm very happy to discuss which songs you would prefer from my set list.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes, absolutely. For my solo show I bring a terrific Korg vintage electric piano complete with my own amplification which can be adjusted to suit your audience.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If you have a specific song which isn't on my list, I will listen to see if I can make a good solo piano arrangement of it and if I can, I will include it for your event free of charge. Please give me plenty of notice though as it takes a week or so to perfect!!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I choose popular songs which people recognise rather than noodle about with jazzy/bluesy piano pieces that seem to blur into one. I have also found that people appreciate that I am willing to create solo piano versions of their own favourites

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Oxford Kassam Stadium. Churches for weddings with my solo act. With my bands I have performed at Pennfest, Cornbury, Live In The Park Aylesbury (headline), Astonbury Aylesbury (headline), venues in Carcassonne France, The Elgiva Chesham, Waterside Aylesbury, Chapel Arts Bath, Stage Door Southampton...and many more!!!

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Muse, Pink Floyd, Stranglers are my favourite bands, but I guess my solo piano is more influenced by Elton John, Queen, Coldplay,

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Toss-up between Aylesbury Live In The Park, headlining in front of 12k+ people, Pennfest where we were on the bill with Kaiser Chiefs, Feeder and The Manic St Preachers. Solo piano-wise, The Kassam Stadium in front of 600 people.
