About Martin

I am a full-time professional DJ, singer, guitarist & pianist. DJ or live musician or both - perfect for any occasion!
Singing guitarist
Public liability insurance of £1 million
Verified profile

Hello! My name is Martin John and I am an accomplished, versatile and professional full time musician & DJ. I have been performing at weddings, parties, private functions, pub & club gigs since the early 2000s. I have my own professional PA system and lighting rig. My equipment is PAT tested and I have Public Liability Insurance. My agency ratings are always 5* and my reviews speak for themselves. For live music, I have a repertoire of 160+ songs from the 1950s to present day - please see the full repertoire below. I can adapt the repertoire to suit your event easily and I'm more than happy to learn a couple of songs specifically for your occasion. I can provide music for any part of your occasion: singing guitarist to get everyone dancing and singing? DJ sets to keep people on the dancefloor? Ambient background music to enhance the event? Specific songs for your special day? You name it and I can provide it! Either on piano or from behind the decks or by being a singing guitarist or pianist. As a DJ I have played at all sorts of functions: weddings, parties, corporate events and pub & club gigs. I use a DDJ two-channel mixer with a full range of effects to enhance my mixes. My library currently stands at 12,000 songs from all genres. I am not precious about what I play - I am happy to tailor my playlist entirely to your occasion. If you'd like to leave the music entirely to me with a few suggestions - that is fine. Or if you'd like to provide the full playlist exactly as you want it - that is also fine. I am happy to MC as much or as little as you'd like - either singing and talking to encourage guests to the dancefloor or simply focusing on the music keeping the dancefloor as full as possible. Have a listen to my DJ mix in the media section. I have performed solo and in various bands for nearly 20 years all over the UK, having performed on the same bill as mainstream bands and artists at festivals and private events. My bands have won Battle Of The Bands competitions and I have been in various function bands that have played at weddings and parties. I have also produced music that has been used for adverts, computer games and animations. My set up includes a 2800W PA system and a multi effect lighting rig (strobes, pars, derbys and a laser). I also make use of various effects to enhance my live performance: a loop pedal, vocal harmoniser and a delay pedal for ambient sweeping guitar solos. Clients are often keen to book me for my versatility - they would like live music and a disco afterwards, or a mixture of live and disco throughout the event. It means they do not have to go through multiple suppliers or have to worry about one act packing away whilst the other sets up often in the same space. So I can be the one-stop shop for your event to make sure all your musical requirements are organised professionally and all in one package. So please do get in touch to discuss or make a booking - I do get booked up far in advance so the sooner the better.

Martin was brilliant. He was engaging and friendly on the day as well as a talented musician. We had a session in advance to discuss the event and play list. He was super flexible and even learnt some new song for us. Thank you Martin!

I hired Martin for my husband 50th birthday party. From beginning Martin made a great impact. He sang some beautiful songs at the reception and helped us decide what and when to play. Gave us some great tips and at the disco he played wide range of music like pop, raggaeton, 80s etc. Everyone loved the music and the disco lights. We would hire Martin again . Thank you. Eve and Raf

We booked martin for our wedding. It was important to us that we play a little something for everybody. After a phone consultation he made us feel very at ease and he made us even more excited for the day. He even learnt some songs to sing for us one he sang for our first dance which was a really lovely touch. Martin was very professional he turned up early and nobody even noticed him setting up. He was a true entertainer, everybody was commenting on how fab his singing was and because he does a mixture of singing and dj'ing it was a good balance. The only down fall was it felt like it went too quickly. Thanks for every thing Martin.

Well, what can I say! Everyone commented on how good you were and how on the money you were with the song choices. Unlike some DJ’s who spin and good track and then lose momentum, you possess the skills to keep people going all night. You are a very talented man and it absolutely made the party a smash.
