Born in Bulgaria Mariya attended “Dobrin Petkov” Special Music School in Plovdiv. After graduating from “Pancho Vledigerov” State Music Academy in Sofia, Mariya won a scholarship to study with Jack Glickman at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London), where she also completed her Masters Degree. For the final two years Mariya was awarded the prestigious Artist Fellowship at the Guildhall school, organizing various projects and chamber music concerts.
Mariya is a prize-winner in both national and international competitions, including “Young Music Talent” (Sofia), “Svetoslav Obretenov” (Provadia, Bulgaria), 1st prize at the national competition for performance of German and Austrian Music and the 1st prize at the Semmering International Music Summer Academy (Austria). Mariya participated in the Obersdorf International Music Festival (Germany), where her quartet was broadcast on Bavarian radio. She also performed in the Pharos Chamber Music Festival (Cyprus), Prades Festival (France), Open Chamber Music Festival in Prussia Cove (UK), Paxos Chamber Music Festival (Greece) and Lincoln International Chamber Music Festival (UK) among others.
Mariya has given concerts in Bulgaria, Germany and UK, both as soloist and chamber musician and she performed Mozart Sinfonia Concertante with Southbank Sinfonia. Mariya have toured extensively in Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Finland, Norway, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. She also performs in prestigious UK venues such as Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, St. John’s Smith Square, Cadogan Hall and LSO St Luke's.
