Meet Marilyn Gentle (vocalist), Dave Burrluck (guitarist) If you are looking for the perfect duo look no further. We are: MARILYN Gentle ........ An experienced, classically trained soul vocalist. Mentored by her music teacher in secondary school, Marilyn has learned to use the tools of classical music to let her voice fly singing everything from funk to folk. The early part of her career was spent in the talent-filled south-east London music circuit via Malcolm Hardees Tunnel Club, The Albany, and various local venues, fast working her way toward performing backing vocals for the likes of TWIGGY, APACHE INDIAN and later backing vocals for EDDIE “KNOCK ON WOOD” FLOYD, touring in and around Europe on the Stax Music Circuit with JAMES BROWN, PERCY SLEDGE, RUFUS THOMAS and SAM MOORE. Having formed various units over the years including her own funk covers band THE MGB’s, Marilyn has decided to work with the talented.... Dave Burrluck (guitar)........... Dave’s love of the guitar has taken him on a lifelong quest: from being a pop wannabe in the seventies, chart success in the eighties, and an appearance on the Old Grey Whistle Test, to hard-rocking acclaim as one of the UK’s foremost electric slide guitarists. In recent years, specialising on the nylon-string guitar, Dave has co-founded south east London legends, the Los Dawsons; performed, written and recorded with Dos Rosas, featuring the unique voice and vision of Emma Fenton, with gigs at Blackheath Concert Halls and Lewisham People’s Day, and performed, written and recorded with East Anglian band Verão! who’s critically acclaimed album, Unusual Girl, which Dave co-wrote and co-produced, was released in 2012. Verão! opened the Ipswich Music Day 2012, as guests of BBC Radio Suffolk; Dave also performed with the Suffolk Sinfonia, for BBC Suffolk’s Children In Need Christmas concert at Bury’s Apex, in the same year.
