Maria Swiadek is Polish-born violist. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Yuko Inoue, gaining Bachelor of Music degree and with Martin Outram on Master of Arts course. Maria has participated in many masterclasses with violists including Tatiana Masurenko, Roger Benedict, Hartmut Rohde, Jerzy Kosmala, Stefan Kamasa and others. In 2013 season Maria was one of four violists in Southbank Sinfonia, leading young professional orchestra. With the orchestra she had privilege to work with eminent conductors, including: Edward Gardner, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Paul Wynne Griffiths, Barry Wordsworth and musicians from the Royal Opera House Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. Maria is a freelancer based in London. She plays with many orchestras and ensambles, including Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra of London, Amade Players and Southbank Sinfonia Alumni orchestra. She is also regularly invited to be principal violist for the London Firebird Orchestra. Chamber music is Maria’s the most loved part of musicians life. She has played in many various ensembles including string quartets, quintets and piano quartets. Maria has had an opportunity to perform with outstanding musicians including Bartek Niziol, Agata Szymczewska, Niklas Sivelöv and members of the Zehetmair, Silesian and Lutoslawski Quartets. With chamber ensembles Maria has toured around Europe, in countries including Germany, Holland, Norway, Italy, Ukraine and Slovakia. Maria's great interest is performing baroque music on period instruments. She studied baroque viola with Jane Rogers and Anette Isserlis. Since 2011 she has played in many projects with Royal Academy of Music Baroque Orchestra and worked with outstanding musicians such as Rachel Podger, Madelaine Easton, Elizabeth Wallfisch and Laurence Cummings. With this ensemble Maria has participated in London Händel Festival, Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata Series and played in Wigmore Hall and King’s Place.
