Hi, I'm Marcus - Wedding & Party Singer based in Hampshire, available across the South and Midlands, performing Jazz & Swing, Soul & Pop classics perfect for special occasions. With a live performing background going back over 25 years, I am very experienced working with audiences of all ages, reading the mood and adapting the song selection perfectly to create the ambience you're looking for. I have built up a very extensive repertoire and can always find the right music to suit your event and the atmosphere you want. Past clients have been kind enough to say that I have a 'lovely singing voice' and an 'infectious enthusiasm for the music which soon spreads to the audience'. I can either bring a full P.A. system which will easily fill your large venue or, I can set up for an acoustic event in a smaller venue using my Bose S1 Pro which provides great sound quality without the need for any cables or plugs! All my equipment is P.A.T. tested and covered with Public Liability Insurance to the value of £10 million. I sing a nice mix of popular tunes from Jazz & Swing, through Motown, Soul and Pop songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s all the way through to contemporary numbers by George Ezra and Adele – either in the background for example when everyone is socialising at a reception, or for dancing at a party. For your event, you can choose some particular songs you like from my repertoire list, or you can tell me the vibe you're looking for and I’ll do the rest. I am happy to learn a first dance song for a wedding or anniversary to personalise your set list and help make the occasion extra special. I offer a number of different packages when I perform, and typically play during one of the following options: Anniversaries/ Special Birthdays/Dinner & Dance events: First set Jazz & Swing to get your guests in the party mood without drowning out the conversation. Second - set uptempo Soul and Pop classics for dancing. Wedding Drinks Receptions/ Business events: I will create the perfect ambience with swing and infectious classic songs while your guests mingle and socialise. I often perform outside – (depending on the great British weather of course!) Wedding Breakfasts: Tasteful background Jazz & Soul music for you and your guests to enjoy without drowning out the conversation. Wedding Evening Meals/ Wedding Evening Parties : Atmospheric Music to get the vibe going during the meal, then I'll learn your ‘First Dance’ song for you (just let me know your perfect song choice in advance), then I play either one or two up-tempo live sets for you and your guests to dance to. This option also works well for the early evening e.g. 8-10pm when you're having a DJ for later on.
