An engaging, versatile musician, Manuel Arellano is the founder and conductor of the Siegfried Camerata. He combines his conducting activities with his passion for the violin and teaching music. Manuel has been offered a place twice at the International Conductors Masterclass “El Escorial” with renowned conductor Jorma Panula and Atso Almila, kindly supported by the Richard Carne Trust, as well as being selected to participate at the conducting seminar of the Aurora Chamber Music Festival (Trollhättan, Sweden) with the late Kurt Masur. He also participated in the Aberystwyth music festival, where he conducted the London Schools Symphony orchestra (LSSO) and the Orion Orchestra. Current plans for 2018 include a conducting performance in Madrid of Dvorak's 8th Symphony and the Horn Concerto in Eb Major by Richard Strauss, and another performance at the Auditorio Nacional de Música with the Orquesta Sinfónica Iuventas. Manuel studied violin with Olga Vilkomirskaia, a pupil of David Oistrakh, at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Badajoz (Spain) where he graduated with first class honours in violin performance. He continued his studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, holding the Gladys Bratton Scholarship, where he finished his Master’s degree with distinction. He also finished a Postgraduate Artist Diploma at Trinity Laban under the tutelage of Mayumi Fujikawa, Richard Markson and John Crawford. As a chamber musician, Manuel was one of the founders of the Bedriska Trio, an award-winning Piano Trio based in London. With the Bedriska Trio Manuel won the 1st Prize in the 2012 Cavatina Chamber Music Competition, and was awarded twice the John Thompson Prize for its achievements in chamber music at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Manuel is also an experienced teacher. He has worked for the London Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the teaching staff for the "LPO Have a Go Instrument Sessions" run by the Southbank Centre and has given regular outreach music workshops at schools with the Bedriska Trio. He is also one of the founding members of the Summer Music School at Blackheath Conservatoire of Music, where he currently works as a violin tutor. Due to the success and high demand of the Summer Music School Manuel has created a new music course with Pianist Giulia Semerano at The Conservatoire which will begin in April 2018.

It has been extremely memorable to work and perform with the Siegfried Camerata on Beethoven's Emperor Concerto for the "Beethoven Piano Society of Europe". The Camerata led by Manuel was really committed to presenting the highest possible artistry in its performance. The orchestra and the management always showed professionalism during rehearsals, concert and organisation, combined with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All these made our music making together such a joy

My daughter was impressed by quality of the sound, and team work produced by the orchestra “they sound amazing “ “I hope to be that good some day" - inspirational listening for a young string player. “Listening to how the conductor explains what he wants to make his perfect sound” The pianist was incredible and my daughter was amazed by how well she played and the passion for the music that she showed. All in all it was an incredible experience for a 9 year old who desires to be a musician to watch an orchestra at work that closely, and see how all the pieces fit together
