Maisie May is an an innovative young musician, pushing the boundaries of folk music. She uses open tunings and finger style guitar (informed by 10 years experience playing classical guitar) to accompany her voice, covering traditional and contemporary folk music as well as acoustic and pop covers. She also plays English concertina, accompanying her voice with drones and captivating uses of harmony.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Contact me ASAP and we can resolve any programme or logistical changes, no problem. Fee may have to be renegotiated.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Possibly, we can discuss the details of this if required.

How much time do you need to set up?

30 minutes.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes, this will be factored into my fee if I am required to learn new material for a gig.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I can bring my own amplification, cables and microphone for an extra. Feel free to ask more details about this.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes, I will factor this into my fee.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I am a very sensitive guitarist with a unique technique, playing finger style guitar (much like a classical guitarist, having been classical trained) but within a folk context.

I performed in a cultural Olympiad for the 2012 Olympics in Ponds Forge, Sheffield, performing Indian fusion music on classical guitar. I was in charge of cueing performers, dancers and synchronised swimmers.
