A 4 piece Latin Jazz band based in Leeds, the Luna Galaxies met at The Leeds Conservatoire. Formed based on a mutual love of South American music, the band plays a range of Jazz and Latin classics, as well as original song written by our South American guitarist, Eddie Luna. The band is well travelled and experienced, having played multiple UK festivals, as well as performing across every venue and event type around the North, including extensive function work. With an extensive range, Luna Galaxies is able to offer both relaxed acoustic sets, suitable for any occasion, through to fully amplified, fully kitted out large scale gigs. All equipment is able to be provided, including PA system and a lighting rig.

As a musician myself, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Luna Galaxies perform live! An absolutely fantastic band, brilliant experience and I can’t wait to see them again!

I booked Luna Galaxies for function about a month ago, and I was pleasantly surprised. Not that I didn't expect them to be good, but as they're new to the site I was initially apprehensive but they blew myself and all the guests away! I have to begin with the lead singer who's amazing vocal capabilities are captivating right from the beginning. She has a soft, soothing, breathy voice, perfect for the softer, Latin and bossa type feel songs but then all of sudden blasts out a mighty roar for the emotive, more upbeat sections. Really amazing. Then the guitarists solos were something of a spectacle. It's super amazing to see a guitar hero fusing what clearly appears to be a rock background with this Latin style. Without going on too long, I have to mention the two who hold it all together, the bass player who was super tight and the drummer who has great skill but does a great job at maintaining a relaxed vibe, ensuring not to overshadow the lead instruments. Would book again!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

People love our exciting yet relaxed vibe, that embodies the heart and soul of what Latin/Jazz music stands for. Everyone is able to connect with our music, regardless of their background. Everyone that hears us can’t help themselves but start moving and dancing along!!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We have played at various venues across Leeds. In particular we have played many times at PigLove, an exciting new venue by Leeds docks. We have also played multiple UK festivals.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Greentea Peng, Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Adele, Santana, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes, we are able to somewhat adapt our set, depending on what is being asked for. However, we tend to stick to Latin/Jazz in general.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

That is absolutely fine - as long as we are informed in advance with enough warning, this should not be a problem.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This can come as standard with any of our bookings.

How much time do you need to set up?

30 minutes maximum.

Can you roam around while you perform?

To a certain extent, our singer and guitarist are able to roam, considering the constraints of cable lengths.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes absolutely. We may also be able to learn a particular song for you in advance, if we are given enough time to do so.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes, all equipment including PA and lighting is included.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If given enough time and depending on the songs, yes we are able to learn song requests before the event. However, this may cost extra to compensate for rehearsal time etc.
