Luke Webster

I have seen Luke play in multiple venues and listened to his music develop over the years! Luke's own music always tells a story and this is something that appeals to me. I love his singing and playing and his interaction with the band and the crowd which ALWAYS makes for a fantastic evening. I walk away from Luke's gigs with a big smile on my face and a happy heart (even with the depressive ones!!!) and isn’t that what music and gigs are about?

Ffarwel LUKE WEBSTER For once, we at Red Lantern Cocktails are lost for words. I know this comes as a shock but there you have it. How did this happen? How did our usual verbosity dry up? Saying ‘farewell’ to Luke Webster – one of the Hoi An’s most sought-after singer-songwriters and all-round good bloke – that’s how. How can a handful of words adequately convey the impact Luke’s had on so many of us? (We should be saying ‘ffarwel’ because that’s Welsh, and that’s where Luke is heading.) Whilst we’d like to drag Luke off the plane and keep him here with a bucketful of Hudas, we know someone with this much talent needs to take his gift further. To say you will be missed, Luke, is an understatement. You have enthralled us with your originality and moved us to tears with your songs from the heart. Your mischievous sense of humour and jaunty lyrics have made us laugh, dance, sing along and sigh. It is hard to find a more talented and versatile musician. And one who is loved by all – young and old. So, with a heavy heart, Red Lantern and Hoi An can only say: ‘Go conquer, your work deserves international acclaim’. Luke wrote many classic songs inspired by his time in Hoi An. You can say farewell by letting him know which of his songs grabbed you the most. But if you never reached the ‘know all the words stage’ we’re sure he’d appreciate if you just simply passed on what a Luke Webster performance meant to you.
