Based in the Baltimore-Washington area, Luke Spence is a classical trumpet player equally at home in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. Recent achievements include his Lincoln Center orchestral debut as principal trumpet of the International Chamber Orchestra of America, an 18-city tour performance throughout China with the Oberlin Brass Quintet, and the James Stamp Award from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in trumpet performance and minor in musicology. Spence is pursuing a Master of Music at the University of Maryland under the study of Chris Gekker. This summer, Spence will be serving as principal trumpet for Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point.
